Shufflepuck Café (Brøderbund, 1989)⠀ ⠀ Shufflepuck Café is a computer air hockey game developed by Christopher Gross, Gene Portwood and Lauren Elliott for Brøderbund (not a table shuffleboard video game, as the name would suggest—though that was the intention when the name was first coined by Christopher Gross). Originally developed for the #AppleMacintosh, it was later adapted by Brøderbund for the #Amiga, #AtariST, Apple #IIGS (leaked version), #Amstrad CPC, Family Computer, Sharp #X68000, #NES, NEC PC-9801 and MS-DOS operating systems.⠀ ⠀ #fb #blog #tweet

Bad Dudes Vs DragonNinja (Data East, 1988)⠀ ⠀ Bad Dudes Vs DragonNinja, also called Bad Dudes Vs. Dragon Ninja, often referred to simply as Bad Dudes, and known in Japan simply as DragonNinja (ドラゴンニンジャ?), is a 1988 arcade game developed and published by Data East. It was also ported to many computer and game console home systems. The game was followed by a 1991 spiritual successor Two Crude Dudes (known in Japan as Crude Buster). After Data East became defunct due to their bankruptcy in 2003, G-Mode bought the intellectual rights to the arcade game as well as most other Data East games and licensed them globally.⠀ ⠀ The game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where the players are set in the role of the titular duo tasked with rescuing "President Ronnie" from ninja kidnappers. It was met with commercial success, and a generally positive to mixed critical reception. It has since become widely known for its general premise and introduction cut scene.⠀ ⠀ #fb #tweet #blog

Buggy Boy (Tatsumi, 1985)⠀ ⠀ Buggy Boy, also known as Speed Buggy, is an arcade off-road racing game developed by Tatsumi in 1985. The object of the game is to drive around one of five courses (Offroad, North, East, South or West) in the shortest time possible. Each course has five legs, each filled with obstacles such as boulders and brick walls. Points are awarded for driving through gates and collecting flags. Offroad is a closed-circuit course that takes five laps to complete while North, South, East, and West are each a strict point A to point B style course.⠀ ⠀ The player could also hit logs and tree stumps in order to jump the buggy over obstacles, gaining extra points while airborne. Extra points are also rewarded for driving the buggy on two wheels.⠀ ⠀ The original, cockpit version of the arcade cabinet had a panoramic three-screen display, a feature previously employed in TX-1. An upright, single-screen cabinet was released in 1986 under the name, Buggy Boy Junior.⠀ ⠀ #fb #blog #tweet
